I love those self help books which tell you how to easily remove stains and odours, be more efficient and various other useful tips, just by using some common sense and normal household cleaning products, such as vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.
Do you know that practically all cleaning can be done efficiently and quickly using these two amazing, totally safe and non-toxic ordinary household items?
I’m not going into this here, because this article is all about using some really common homeopathic remedies at home. But I encourage you to check them out. Just imagine, no more toxic fumes or dangers for small children or pets. Or you, for that matter.
Back to home remedies.
Just imagine your small daughter falls and cuts herself badly. She’s screaming, you’re panicking and you’ve got a flat tyre on your car. Your neighbours are away on holiday on one side, and at work on the other. The bus drivers are on strike. Your family live miles away. And you’re a single parent.
Well, you could panic some more.
Or you could ring for a taxi, which will probably take a while to come.
You might try ringing your friend, but she could be out of town. Or, at the very least, a few minutes drive away.
You drive to the local hospital.
And then you wait...
Don’t you just love the wait?
You could be dying, for all most hospitals seem to care. They seem to be more interested in your private insurance cover, or your next of kin - great feeling of confidence.
Now supposing you had a small kit of common homeopathic home remedies, with an instruction sheet.
You could quickly get that out, run through the ailments section and pick the appropriate remedy for the wound.
That might take a couple of minutes.
Almost like magic, your daughter stops screaming. With peace descending, you wash and dress the wound. By the time your friend or the taxi arrives, the worst is over. Your daughter wants to get back to playing.
You’re left wondering why you were in such a panic. But you know it was real. There’s a wound to prove it.
Homeopathic home remedies work so fast, as soon as they hit your tongue they’re working, provided you have selected the correct one.
Learning something new, like using the most appropriate home remedies in emergencies, is something so valuable for us all, if should be taken very seriously.
So, where do you look for help?
My suggestion is to find a good, regular (at least weekly) natural health or homeopathic ezine (internet magazine) to subscribe to. This way, learning becomes almost effortless. Learning which common home remedies do what, could stand you in good stead later in life.
Welcome to the world of homeopathy! Homeopathy is probably the deepest, most effective, alternative medicine modality. But alternative medicine isn't just about choosing a particular modality. It's a complete package including a good diet. Alternative medicine also looks at other natural benefits - such as laughter - which can cure any health issue. And it's good to be aware of any dangers of medical drugs.

Using Natural Home Remedies, in Particular Homeopathy, Effectively
There’s nothing more empowering than using natural home remedies effectively. It has enormous WOW factor. Why? Well for a start, using natural remedies, you know you can’t do any harm as they’re gentle, non-invasive and work in harmony with your body. But the real WOW factor comes when you do good! It can be so exciting, that you can do so much good, in the comfort of your own home, without knowing much.
There are a variety of natural home remedies that you can safely use yourself, without knowing very much. There are some herbs (although many need more in depth information), there’s flower essences, there’s aromatherapy, there’s good nutrition, there’s kitchen home remedies and then there’s homeopathy.
Perhaps, out of all of them, homeopathy has the potential for doing the most good. All of the commonly available homeopathic remedies have a wide scope of use. For instance, the homeopathic remedy Arnica, the king of injury remedies can resolve the following conditions:
Whilst I’m not proposing that you, as a home prescriber, attempt to treat such serious ailments as meningitis or pneumonia, I am suggesting that, with a bit of knowledge and a sharp eye, you have the potential of nipping these conditions in the bud.
Using natural home remedies does mean that you have to be a bt of a detective. You need to notice things about you or the family member you’re trying to help. For instance, you need to know their normal habits and traits, so you know when they have deviated from them. Someone who needs the homeopathic remedy Arnica is often averse to the approach of others. It’s logical when you look at it. As Arnica is the king of injury remedies, those needing it have been hurt. If they’ve been hurt once, the approach of someone may raise fears that you may further hurt them.
This isn’t a normal behaviour. So if your dog is suddenly apprehensive of your approach, he may have been injured.
I remember hearing of someone who had suffered severe gastritis for years. He’d been to see doctor after doctor, to no avail. Finally, he saw a homeopath. Homeopaths always ask about what happened to cause the problem. This was easy - a kick in the stomach from a donkey. Arnica was prescribed, and the gastritis disappeared completely.
Now if that had happened to you, with your homeopathic kit of natural home remedies, you could have prevented something like that from developing.
Lets dip into the mix and see what other examples of natural home remedies there are. Tomatoes are a popular food and can be easily grown in many climates. Tomatoes are full of a nutrient called lycopine. Lycopine is a natural sun screen. If you know some basic nutritional knowledge like this, you can eat your sunscreen - a much healthier option than the topical one.
What do you do if you’ve been stung by a plant or insect which packs a punch, and you’re in the middle of nowhere, with help miles and hours away? If you know your natural home remedies well, you’d know that if you urinate on the area, all will be quickly resolved.
Isn’t it fun!
